Unfortunately Canada Post has once again gone on strike, and we are unable to process shipments using them. Regrettably, this further complicates the issues surrounding shipments to US customers caused by the recent imposition of pre-paid duty collection requirements on packages sent to the United States. While Canada Post provides options to estimate and pre-pay duties for US customers, as well as free brokerage; Purolator, FedEx, and UPS do not. This means that for US-based customers, when using a courier service to ship from outside the United States, there is no guarantee of what the final cost of an order/shipping/duties/brokerage will be until after it’s departed.
This uncertainty cost places an unreasonable burden on US customers, and will inevitably lead to unnecessary frustration and expense. Therefore, effective 2025/09/30, I am temporarily halting all shipments to the US until such time as either the Canada Post strike has ended, or the requirement for pre-paid US duties has been rescinded.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, however I’d rather risk losing some sales than ship orders to US customers, only for them to receive an unexpected courier bill for hundreds of dollars at the time of delivery.
